What is Job
Creation Partnerships?
- Job Creation Partnerships
is a labour market program delivered by MMF - HRDT to assist unemployed
individuals gain work experience and insight as to the work force and
improve their long-term employment prospects, by working in partnerships
with employers in developing employment opportunities.
What is the
objective of Job Creation Partnerships?
- The overall objective
of Job Creation Partnerships is to work in partnership with employers
to support long-term employment development opportunities at the local
level, by creating work experience and labour market development activities.
Who can apply?
- Community Partners
such as Local Businesses, Educational Institutions, Non-Profit Organizations,
Municipal Governments, Manitoba Métis Federation Local Chapters,
and Community Development Corporations.
Who is eligible
to participate?
- Métis,
Inuit or other Aboriginal person not registered under the Indian Act,
who are unemployed and have multiple barriers to employment; and in
need of a specialized, tailor-made combination of interventions not
otherwise available.
What is the
length a project can receive funding?
- Job Creation Partnership
projects can receive funding through the negotiation of a contribution
agreement up to a duration of 52 weeks, pending on clients needs.
What income
support do participants receive?
- Participants can
receive income support by way of E.I. Benefits to the end of their benefit
period, which may/can be enhanced to prevailing wages rates depending
on occupation position. Other costs can be towards material and capital
costs if without assistance, the activities could not be undertaken.
