What is Job Opportunity?

  • Job Opportunity is a labour market program delivered by MMF - HRDT to assist unemployed individuals gain valuable work experience and insight as to their occupational career goal.

  • The objective of Job Opportunity is to assist unemployed individuals gain work experience and insight as to their occupational career goal and improve on their employment prospects.

Who can apply?

  • Community Partners such as Local Businesses, Educational Institutions, Non-Profit Organizations, Manitoba Métis Federation Local Chapters, and Community Development Corporations.

Who is eligible to participate?

  • Métis, Inuit, or other Aboriginal person not registered under the Indian Act, who is unemployed and in need of work experience and insight as to their occupational career goal.

What is the length of funding a sponsor can receive?

  • Funding is based on occupational career goal identified, and negotiation depending on client needs.

What income support do participants receive?

  • Participants on E.I. claim can receive their Benefits, and at end of period may receive a allowance, regionally determined.
