FOR THE DISABLED
- If you are an
Employer who is planning on hiring a person with a "on-going"
disability, and require assistance with costs associated with the hiring.
MMF - HRDT Department can assist your business towards the costs associated
with the hiring.
- Assistance can
be in way of Wages and Benefits, and any other related disability costs
associated with the hiring.
- Your business
is eligible... if you are an Employer who is willing to hire a person
with disabilities to gain work experience that will lead to on-going
potential long-term employment.
What is the
objective of the Special Program?
- The objective
is to assist persons with disabilities, who are not eligible for employment
benefits, prepare for, obtain and maintain employment, resulting in
increased financial independence.
Who can apply?
- Businesses, Non-profit
organizations, Educational Institutions, Municipal governments, Manitoba
Métis Federation Local Chapters, and Community Development Corporations.
Who is eligible
to participate?
- Métis,
Inuit or other Aboriginal person not registered under the Indian Act,
who have an "on-going" physical or mental impairment that
restricts his/her ability to obtain or maintain employment and is in
need of assistance to get and keep work.
What are
eligible costs?
- Some of the eligible
supports to participants are living expenses, disability related costs,
tuition costs, transportation, and all costs are actual costs related
to clients needs and paid for by actual expenditures only.
