TARGETED WAGE
SUBSIDY

than to providing direct work-experience to potential employees' in
your place of work.
MMF - HRDT Department can assist by subsidizing up to 60% of the wages
to eligible participants in their occupational field.
- Targeted Wage
Subsidies for employers' have been designed to make it economical smart
and affordable for your business to hire energetic new employees'. This
program provides employees' with pre-employment and on-the-job work
experience activities in their occupational field that will lead to
only a fully qualified and experienced employee, but also long-term
permanent employment.
- Your Business
is eligible... if you have a prospective employee who is currently unemployed,
and you can provide at least 30 hours of work per week that will lead
to the development of employment skills and long-term permanent employment.
What is Targeted
Wage Subsidy?
- Targeted Wage
Subsidy is a labour market program delivered by MMF - HRDT that provides
employers with a subsidy to hire employee's, who are experiencing difficulty
finding employment because of different factors such as being out of
the work force for a long period or a lack or work experience.
What is the
objective of Targeted Wage Subsidy?
- The objective
of Targeted Wage Subsidy is to assist maintain long-term employment
by providing direct work experience in their occupational field with
an employer.
Who can apply?
- Businesses, Non-Profit
Organizations, Educational Institutions, Manitoba Métis Governments,
and Community Development Corporations.
Who is eligible
to participate?
- Métis,
Inuit or other Aboriginal person not registered under the Indian Act,
who are unemployed and having difficulty making the transition to work.
What are
eligible costs?
- Keeping in mind
that although and in respect to the flexibility of the program MMF -
HRDT can only assist up to and in accordance with client needs, and
not employers wants. Maximum contribution should not exceed 60% of total
wages for the entire duration of project.
